As a National Guild member, Bay Chamber Concerts is committed to making high quality arts education accessible to all.

We bring music to the schools in a variety of ways. School children from Knox, Lincoln and Waldo counties are invited to attend matinee concerts of classical ensembles, jazz groups or dance companies that appear as part of our Performing Arts Series each year.

school programsThese matinees take place at the Strand Theatre in Rockland, the Strom Auditorium in Rockport and the Camden and Rockport Opera Houses. The programs are offered at no charge to the participating schools, and have enabled thousands of students to experience the excitement of live performances over the years.

As a benefit to schools that attend these matinees, we offer study guides that align with the Maine Learning Results.  These guides offer teachers multi-disciplinary approaches to the material in order to prepare students for what they will be seeing at the performance.  These guides are made available on-line enabling us to reach an even broader audience.

For each of the student matinees we offer to area schools, we create study guides.
Teachers are invited touse these guides to lead classroom discussion before and/orafter yamatothe performance. These study guides align with the Maine Learning Results guidelines.
