MUSIC AT NOON
Bay Chamber Concerts, in partnership with the Farnsworth Art Museum, is pleased to present our second winter season of intimate Music at Noon lunchtime concerts. Concerts take place on the second Wednesday of each month during January, February, March, and April. Spend your lunch hour in downtown Rockland enjoying a simple, tasty warm lunch from Atlantic Baking Company while surrounded by art and music in the beautiful environs of the Farnsworth Art Museum’s Library. These four diverse, fifty minute performances are a perfect way to unplug from the workday and relax with a community of fellow music and art lovers.
The cost is $25 per concert. Tickets include a cup of soup, bread and a cookie, as well as free entrance to the Farnsworth Art Museum following the show.
The DaPonte String Quartet is currently celebrating its 22st year in Maine. The ensemble was founded in Philadelphia and moved to Maine on a Rural Residency Grant established by the National Endowment for the Arts and Chamber Music America. They have performed in concert halls around the US, including Carnegie Hall; and in Europe and Canada. The mission of the DaPonte String Quartet is to connect audiences to composers by bringing to life the human context of each score’s creation.
The Quartet consists of Ferdinand Liva and Lydia Forbes, Violin; Kirsten Monke, Viola and Myles Jordan, Cello
