“Many years ago, my friend Joe Robinson – then principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic – said that it was too bad that music was the only 'sport' that did not have an all-star game.  'Wouldn’t it be great,' he said, 'if we could assemble great principal players from the various orchestras to play together in an all-star setting just like they do in baseball, basketball, and football.'  I told Joe he was on to something and gave him free hand to organize a first-chair all star concert.  It was so successful that it soon became a tradition at Bay Chamber Concerts.  This year, for the grand finale of of our 50th anniversary season we are proud to present a program culminating in the great Beethoven septet.  The concert will be played by:
